FAQ

CBD & Cannabinoids Science

CBD is a non-psychoactive molecule found in the hemp plant. Its full name is cannabidiol. As one of the major cannabinoids in hemp, CBD has lots of unique properties which you can find more about here.

CBD is able to bind with receptors of the endocannabinoid system and vanilloid system, and it can even activate serotonin receptors. Its main course of action is through the endocannabinoid system, a complex system which regulates functions like mood, sleep, and appetite. Thanks to its effects on the endocannabinoid system (ECS), CBD has many benefits for both physical and mental health (read more about them here!)

Because CBD affects a whole bodily system (the endocannabinoid system), it has a very wide range of benefits for the whole body and even for the mind. Here are just a couple:

● CBD can relieve pain
● CBD can soothe anxiety
● CBD can help with inflammation and inflammatory conditions
● CBD can target seizures and muscle spasms
● CBD can relieve skin conditions like acne and psoriasis
● CBD can provide a mood boost
● CBD has neuroprotectant properties
You can read more about some additional benefits of CBD here.

No, CBD isn’t a psychoactive molecule. Unlike its close cousin THC, CBD won’t make you high or really affect your perception of reality in any way. In fact, CBD isn’t listed as a narcotic on any UN document.

CBD can have a couple of side effects, all of which are very mild. For example, it has been found to cause nausea, changes in appetite, and lethargy. However, these side-effects are rare and mainly occur when consumers take a dose that is too strong for them.

There are three main types of CBD:

1- CBD Isolate
2- Broad-Spectrum CBD
3- Full-Spectrum CBD

These product types derive from different manufacturing methods and some are more suited for certain uses than others. You can read more about these CBD types here. The type of CBD we use in Renact vaping extract is full-spectrum CBD.

Cannabis or cannabis sativa is the official name of a plant genus. Hemp is an industry term for cannabis plants that contain minimal amounts of THC. So all hemp plants are cannabis plants, but not all cannabis plants are hemp plants (only those that are close to THC-free.)

No, research has shown that CBD doesn’t create addiction, habit, and even tolerance. CBD is safe to use long-term and won’t cause any withdrawal effects when you choose to stop taking it.

Cannabis overdoses are near impossible, and overdosing with CBD is unheard of. If you take a much larger dose of CBD than what you are used to, you may feel lethargic, experience some changes in appetite, or even get nauseous. However, all of these symptoms are mild and non-life-threatening so there is no reason to be worried about a CBD overdose.

Terpenes are a type of molecule found in cannabis. They are the molecules responsible for giving the plant its unique smell and taste. For example, the terpene known as “limonene” gives off a citrusy scent. As well as bringing in scent and taste, terpenes have a whole host of properties—some are great for pain relief, others can stop nausea…

Terpenes play a key role in the “entourage effect”, essentially making the effects of other cannabinoids stronger by working synergestically. Read more about their benefits here.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is one of the many systems in your body busy keeping everything balanced. The ECS is partially responsible for regulating memory, mood, pain, stress, sleep, appetite, inflammation, immunity, and metabolism.

Cannabinoids like CBD can give a boost to the ECS, allowing it to regulate all of these body functions a lot better. This is the main reason why CBD has such a wide range of benefits and applications.

The entourage effect is a word that describes the synergic properties of cannabis molecules. Research has found that cannabinoids work better and deliver stronger benefits when they are taken together with other cannabinoids as well as hemp terpenes. This theory explains why taking full-spectrum cannabis products provides greater benefits than using ones that contain CBD isolate or other cannabinoids isolates. You can learn more about the entourage effect here.

Legal Questions

CBD is currently legal in most of Europe and North America. That being said, regulations change country by country, especially concerning the type of product that can be sold and the maximum amount of detectable THC that they can contain.

Find up to date information about the legal status of CBD in your own country here.

No, you never need a prescription to buy THC-free CBD products (such as the ones Renact sells.)

Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use CBD products.

No, drug tests do not look for CBD. If you ever have to take a drug test, our THC-free product will not cause any issues.

Shipping CBD to other countries could lead you into some legal trouble. To be safe, check up-to-date information on the status of CBD in the country where you intend to ship or receive it.

The legal status of CBD changes country by country. Start with researching the legal status of CBD in the country where you intend to travel here. Next, keep in mind that CBD products that look or smell like cannabis could get you into trouble at an airport. Even if CBD is perfectly legal, it could cost you a lot of time and energy going through customs.

Questions About Renact Products

Our cannabinoids vaping extract are made from pure hemp and don’t contain any additives. We use low temperature CO2 extraction to maximize the levels of cannabinoids and terpenes in our extract. The extract that is obtained is then sold pure, without being diluted, blended, flavored, or tempered with in any way.

To create our formulas, we’ve drawn on over 30 years of research on cannabinoids science. We’ve bought patented formulas created by state-of-the-art research facilities in the Netherlands and adapted them into vapable products.

Each of our products is formulated with a specific condition in mind (insomnia, anxiety…) and contains the perfect blend of cannabinoids and terpenes to address that condition. After going through both pre-clinical and clinical trials, our products are released.

We offer two formulas: Sleep and Relief. Our Sleep formula is aimed at helping you fall asleep quicker. The Relief formula has been shown to reduce stress and boost mood.

No, our products are guaranteed THC-free, in compliance with current European law.

Yes, Renact products are completely free from animal products.

Yes, we test our products at all stages of development and production.

In the early stages, we carry out both pre-clinical and clinical tests.

We’ve also done a stability test of 12 months which showed our products retain their quality for over a year.

After production, we work with a French laboratory that analyses our products for things such as heavy metals and aldehydes content. Each Renact product comes with a Certificate of Analysis issued by this AFNOR-approved lab.

Our products can be kept for up to a year stored at room temperature. You should also be careful to keep them out of direct contact with UV light, which could cause damage.

At the moment, Renact doesn’t grow its own plants. We source the hemp we use in our products from organic, FDA-approved farms in the US and Italy.

In the future, we will be growing our own plants in Switzerland in order to cultivate our own strains using organic growing practices.

Renact uses subcritical CO2 extraction at a low temperature, which preserves all the most fragile compounds in hemp, including terpenes.

We have received ISO 9001:2015, NSF GMP, Comprehensive Kosher, and CCOF Organic Certifications as well as FDA registration.

Use & Dosage

The Renact CBD vape pen is made up of two parts: the cartridge and the battery.

To start using it, simply screw the cartridge onto the battery—make sure it’s locked in tightly.

Pressing the “Turn On” button 5 times will activate the device. As it starts heating up, a light will turn on—indicating the temperature of the device.

White light stands for a temperature of around 160°C.

Blue light stands for a temperature of around 165°C.

Red light stands for a temperature of around 200°C.

The first light to turn on will be white. To change temperature setting, simply press the “Turn On” button three times— (repeat the process) until the desired temperature is reached.

After choosing your desired temperature, you can start vaping! Simply press the “Turn On” button while inhaling from the tip of the cartridge. After each inhale, you can let go of the “Turn On” button.

At first, it might be a good idea to wait a few minutes between each inhale to see how the extract affects you.

When you’re ready to turn off the vape, simply press the “Turn On” button 5 times. A light will flash twice, letting you know the device is now off.

Each Renact vaping extract has an ideal temperature that it should be consumed at.

The Sleep formula works best with the white light setting (160°C)

The Relief formula works best with the blue light setting (165°C)

With lower temperature setting, you will maximize the flavor and the terpenes release, the greater the temperature is, the more cannabinoids will be released. At the end, it is a matter of personal choice and experience.

Once you’ve chosen your desired temperature, there is no need to select it again for the next use. Even if you switch off the battery, the selected temperature is saved on to the device.

Because no extra ingredients are added to our pure hemp extracts, they have a natural, earthy hemp taste. The particular strain of hemp we use has a slightly sweet berry flavor with a touch of hops.

Since vaping the extract heats it up gently without burning, the smell produced is very minimal. Expect a very discreet herbal smell—nothing like burnt cannabis.

If you are not used to smoking or vaping, there is a chance that vaping our extracts will make you cough. The fact that our vaping extract is oil-based could cause coughing when it mixes in with water particles. To avoid that, we recommend taking small puffs at first. It can also be a good idea to start vaping our extracts at a lower temperature than what is recommended (for example the lowest temperature setting, which emits a white light).

We recommend inhaling for 3-4 seconds and exhaling after 1 second. If you are used to smoking, you may naturally take longer and deeper inhales—but it’s all a matter of personal preference. The main thing is to inhale the vapor into your lungs: this is the only way for the cannabinoids to reach your bloodstream and affect the endocannabinoid system.

The right dosage of Renact vaping extract can vary greatly, based on a few factors such as:

● Your age
● Your weight
● The severity of your condition (for example, how much pain or anxiety you experience)

It’s also good to remember that beginners should start with a low dose, no matter the severity of their condition. That being said, here are some rough guidelines about the type of daily intake we recommend:

Strength of dosage Daily intake
Light to average 25 mg
Average to strong 50 mg
Medicinal strength 100 mg
Severe condition 200 mg

Most people can use Renact’s vaping products. However, they are not for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor before you start using our products if you suffer from asthma, epilepsy, or if you’re currently taking other medications.

Yes, CBD has been shown to interact with certain types of medication. Typically, drugs that carry a grapefuit warning (such as cholesterol or blood pressure medications) should also not be used with CBD and other cannabinoids. If you are taking any medication, talk with your physician before you start vaping Renact extracts.

All products on the market that contain more than 1% CBD in their formulation have to carry a warning label in the European Union.
This goes for products that contain potentially harmful chemicals, but also for products like ours that are 100% natural and thoroughly tested.

Yes, Renact extracts are safe to use when driving because they are THC-free. A recent study found that CBD doesn’t affect a person’s ability to drive.

Yes, all of our products are shipped with useful instructions on how to use the vape.

Vaping

The main benefit of vaping CBD over consuming other products (CBD oil, edibles, topical creams…) is that it has greater bioavailability. When you vape CBD and other cannabinoids, these molecules can reach your blood stream a few seconds after consumption by passing through lung tissue. Compared to ingesting CBD, a much greater percentage of the molecules will actually reach your bloodstream and affect the endocannabinoid system.

Vaping CBD is also portable and a great alternative to cigarettes or nicotine vapes for those who want to quit smoking.

Our vape pen is made out of medical-grade stainless steel, quartz pyrex glass, and electroplated material. It’s made in a facily that has received food processing GMP certifications, as well as:

● ROHS Certification
● ISO 9001
● ISO 13485
● FCC Certification
● FDA Title 21 CFR
● FDA CPG
● UL8139

Here is a diagram of the different parts that constitute our rechargeable vape pen:

Image 1: Cartridge Tube
As this is probably the component that has the most contact surface with the extract, it’s important to know what material is used. Fused Borosilicate Quartz (glass) is one of the safest materials that can be used as it can handle temperatures up to 1,100°C and isn’t prone to leaching (borosilicate quartz is even used to store nuclear waste). On the other hand, polycarbonate materials (plastics) can leach products like bisphenol-A (BPA) at higher temperatures if the extract tends to be more basic than acidic. These materials should not be used in cartridges or disposables and can pose potential health risks for consumers.

Image 2: “Cotton”
The cotton (or more accurately called the unwoven viscose) in a cartridge serves as a catalyst to the capillary action of the coils. It essentially absorbs the extract faster and gets it to the core of the cartridge which in most cases is ceramic. Simply put, it makes for faster absorption of the extract in the coil. During standard use of the cartridge, this cotton will never reach burning temperatures.

Images 3 & 4: Center Post & Inner Mouthpiece
These are the components that are most prone to leaching if not made with the right material. Traditionally, the material used is a brass alloy called H59, which itself contains a little over 2% of lead. These days, when you speak to manufacturers, they will say “lead-free”, which is a big misconception as they are mainly using another brass allot called H59-B1 or B2 that contains only 0.05% lead but can still leach. At Blinc, we’ve pioneered the use of medical-grade 304 Stainless Steel, which doesn’t contain any lead at all. Keep in mind that any finish on these materials may also contain lead (ie: gold of black electroplating).

Image 5: Coil
This is where the magic happens in any vaping device. The heating element, ie: stainless steel, kanthal or nichrome) will provide heat up to a certain temperature when a certain voltage is applied to it applied depending on its resistance. That heat will reach the oil that has been absorbed by the wicking material, ie: ceramic, quartz, etc… which will allow the oil to be “vaporized” into and aerosol. The key factors here that influence this process are the consistency and purity of the materials used, from which are derived the temperatures. A secondary factor is also the intensity and length of the puff (the vaping profile).

Images 6 & 7: Sealing Gaskets
Silicone offers good low and high-temperature capability, while maintaining superior flexibility, low toxicity, low odor, lower molding pressures, and very low extractables (leaching characteristics). These joints serve 2 purposes: the main one being to avoid leaking, but they secure the components in place. The type of silicone is important, as most silicone gaskets have a serviceable temperature range from -55 °C to 200 °C. Keep in mind that when using a proper vaping cartridge and battery, with the cutoff times, the temperature should never go over 200 °C.

Our vape pen is sleek and thin. It’s 8.9 cm long and weighs 16 grams before the cartridge is added.

No, the hardware vape pen we sell is reusable in order to limit waste. It’s fully rechargeable and lasts up to 300 charge cycles.)

Yes, our vape pen comes with a convenient USB charger. Simply connect the cable to the bottom of the vape pen battery and charge it up until full.

If the vape pen is off, press the button 5 times to turn it on. Hold the same button when inhaling, and release it when you stop inhaling. Press it 5 times again when you want to turn it off. Our device is puff-activated, meaning that it will be on “pause mode” in between uses. That being said, it’s a good idea to turn it off in between uses to save battery power.

Our vape pen also comes with a full instruction manual which will guide you through how to use the vape pen, change the cartridge, recharge it, and choose the correct vaping temperature.

Our cartridges are not meant to be refilled. They are sealed and opening them will cause damage. When your cartridge is empty, simply replace it with a brand new Renact cartridge.

How long do cartridges last?

We offer different package options with different cartridge sizes.

On average, a 0.3mL cartridge will last about a week.

A 0.5mL cartridge will last about two weeks.

A 1mL cartridge will last about one month.

We recommend going for the 1mL cartridge, which lasts the longest. There is also the option to buy it as a subscription to avoid having to place an order once a month.
